5 Gifts Dad Really Wants this Father’s Day

by Bob Lucido Team

Dads can be tough to buy gifts for. If your Dad spends most of his time at home, consider surprising him by gifting him a completed home project! The best part? You can do this on a budget, or go all out and spoil him this year.

  1. HIS VERY OWN MAN CAVE - Man caves are a dwelling within the home where the men of the house can escape to. These can be many shapes and sizes, as long as the space has one or more of the necessities- food, TV, and entertainment.

If your home allows, turn one of your lesser used spaces or rooms into Dad’s dream man-cave! Add a refrigerator with all of his favorite drinks and snacks, a large TV, and comfy seating. If your budget allows, add arcade games, a sport table (billiards, foosball, pingpong, or poker), and a dart board. You know your Dad better than anyone, so if you’re unsure where to start, ask yourself: what would his dream man-cave look like?

  2. PRISTINE LANDSCAPING - Does your Dad spend an unusual amount of time cutting the grass, or constantly complain about the weeds in his front or back yard? Yeah, this is pretty typical of Dads. That’s why pristine landscaping would be a gift he’d really appreciate! Take matters into your own hands by doing some yard work, or hire a landscaping company to make his yard the best on the block.

  3. OUTDOOR KITCHEN - If Dad loves to grill, give his grilling space a facelift! Keep it simple by introducing a chiminea or fire pit to your backyard or go all out by installing a custom grill or outdoor kitchen. Accompany this gift with new grill utensils, grill lights, or a new grill all-together.

  4. UPDATED WORKSHOP - The ultimate workshop will consist of peg boards for all of Dad’s handy materials and tools, lots of storage and cabinet space, and a nice big workman’s table or counter. Everything Dad needs to build and/or fix bird houses, furniture, anything! Make sure the space is clean and neatly organized. Buying new tools is also an option to really spoil Dad.

  5. AT-HOME BAR - There are plenty of space-savvy ideas to add a bar to just about any room in Dad’s home. Create a budget-friendly wet bar space or blow the budget and go a custom route. Don’t forget to stock the bar with the essentials and a bottle of Dad’s favorite drink, or stock the fridge with his favorite beers. If he already has a bar, having beer tap lines installed is a great gift!
